mmHg to Pascal Converter
Convert millimeters of mercury (mmHg) to pascals for blood pressure readings, barometric pressure, and medical device calibration. mmHg is the standard unit for blood pressure worldwide while Pa is the SI unit.
Formula
Multiply mmHg by 133.322 to get pascals. To reverse, divide pascals by 133.322 to get mmHg.

About these units
Millimeter of Mercury
The millimeter of mercury dates to Evangelista Torricelli's 1643 barometer experiment, which measured atmospheric pressure as the height of a mercury column. It became the standard for blood pressure measurement with the development of the sphygmomanometer in the 1890s.
Pascal
The pascal (1 N/m²) was adopted as the SI pressure unit in 1971, named after Blaise Pascal whose 17th-century experiments demonstrated atmospheric pressure. Blood pressure is still universally reported in mmHg despite the existence of SI units.
